Visitors and guests will be able to view the exhibition from 11am
and meet and talk to the artists and poets in a relaxed atmosphere.

   

Sausage Sizzle and Soup Lunch
Lunch available from 12 noon

An informal Sausage Sizzle and Soup lunch
(contributing artists and poets free, others by donation)
will precede the official launch.
Enjoy a delicious, relaxing Sausage Sizzle and Soup Lunch, while listening
to harmonious background music, singing and poetry readings.
Then mingle among the beautiful, tranquil setting of City Farm
and the Creative Connections Art and Poetry Exhibition.




Meet the Artists and Poets

This is your chance to meet all the fabulous artists and poets who contribute so much talent
to these exhibitions and to have a look at all the inspirational artworks and poems
they have created. All artwork with accompanying poetry will be for sale with
90% of the proceeds being returned to the disabled artist. The poetry, whilst freely given,
is copyright with the poet retaining all rights to their work.

Entertainment

Throughout the day (Sunday 7th August) we will be entertained by
Noted cellist and poet, Kevin Gillam
singer/guitarist, Debra Ratcliffe
and others.
We will also have the privilege of hearing poetry readings by poets
who contributed their poems to the exhibition.
Profiles of the entertainers are below.


PROFILE: Debra Ratcliffe

Debra Ratcliffe is a singer/guitarist who has written and performed her own songs in the late nineties and has recently begun writing again. She performs mainly folk/country but also dabbles in other styles. In the mid eighties, she performed at country music venues and won a couple of talent quests in between taking care of her three sons, two with disabilities. She has performed from time to time since then but, is now working her way back. She recently performed at Jackadders Music club as a support act.




PROFILE: Kevin Gillam

Kevin Gillam: is a West Australian poet with two books of poems published, “Other Gravities” (2003) and “permitted to fall” (2007), both by Sunline Press. He has also had two chapbooks of poems published by Picaro Press, been a feature poet on ABC Poetica, and appeared at numerous poetry festivals around Australia. He has a forthcoming volume of poetry with Fremantle Press scheduled for 2011.
